Albarius Limited specialises in the restoration and conservation of plasterwork to historic buildings. Our lime plastering services range from decorative plaster mouldings through to major architectural plaster renovation including full external renders and repairs. Our team of plasterers are experienced in working with both gypsum and lime plaster.
Albarius Limited (previously known as S.G. Ellis Plastering Limited) was started by Stephen Ellis in 1995 as a sole trader and quickly grew to a limited company, which was registered in 2000. Stephen gained his City and Guilds in solid and fibrous plasterwork from Hammersmith and West London College in 1990. For the next few years he trained in the use of lime plasters and gained the skills and ethics required for plaster restoration and conservation.
The company has now grown into a strong, professional team of highly skilled craftsmen with over 15 years of experience who uphold the company's ethos of being sympathetic to the fabric of all historic buildings. We believe that we should maintain and respect the skills of earlier craftsmen and use the materials and tools which they would be familiar with. We also believe that we should educate future generations within our trade to ensure the skills are never lost and the historic buildings remain for future generations to enjoy. We are proud to be Associate Members of the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers.
We are based in Bedfordshire and cover the surrounding counties of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire. We are also delighted to carry out works nationwide. Please contact us for more information.
